client quilt

I just finished free motion quilting a beautiful quilt for one of my lovely clients. The quilt was very special to her and she had spent years working on the quilt (not continually :)). I am very pleased she trusted me to work on this quilt.for her..It turned out beautifully.

In the last two weekends I have given my free motion quilting class Basics and Beyond. Both classes were with a great bunch of girls. We all had a lot of laughs and the time went so fast.

I am sorry I didn't get a picture of the first group but, I did get the second group working their hearts out.

I recently gave a trunk show at my quilt guild (Elm city) http://elmcityquiltguild.blogspot.ca/ I had a great time as usual.
.
I would recommend anyone that quilts or is interested in quilting to join a local quilt guild. It is nice to talk to people with the same interest and to see what others are doing.

At most guilds there is a period in the meeting that is called "show and tell" (or something like that) where everyone gets to show their work I love show and tell, just to see the different patterns and color combinations.

These are a couple of my newest wall hangings.

me again

Hi all, it's me, I'm back.

I have been working my little heart right out making some new products for the Fall and Christmas shows.

I have also been working on my class schedule for the fall and winter, so stay tuned for some creative fun happening at the studio. I will post my class schedule on my classes page so come back and have a look.

Rain Rain Go Away

I don't know about you but I could sure use some sunshine.  The rain makes me lazy. I get all kinds of creative ideas but just don't get the energy to do anything about them. I have been getting smarter though, I started writing the ideas down.

I did finish two quilts for Joan (Victoria Quilts). Visit the site as it is a wonderful undertaking.

Both of these quilts have been freemotion quilted on my Juki QVP longarm.

For those of you that might not know:

Freemotion quilted on a longarm sewing machine with a frame means that the quilting pattern is made by me moving the sewing machine to create the sewing pattern.

Freemotion quilted on a domestic sewing machine means that the quilting pattern is made by me moving the fabric to create the sewing pattern.

Keswick Ridge Quilters

I would like to say thank you to the wonderful ladies from the Keswick Ridge Quilters who invited me out to show some of my art quilts. I always find it nice to get some feedback on my work. They were all very nice and I came home inspired and ready to create.

I will be attending the Fredericton Boyce Farmers Market starting on Saturday May 17, 2014. Come by to see what's new, say hi and have a chat.

Some of my new Fiddlehead pieces.

I just purchased a new longarm and have been having some fun learning to do freemotion quilting on it. Here are a few of the new quilts I have made.
